APFIP* offers variety-consulting services on a fee-for-service basis in the area of plant protection including Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) and Trademarks in Australia . It can also arrange for variety protection for Australian plant material in the USA and EU. Australia is a signatory to UPOV (International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants www.upov.org ) this ensures that our PBR law is in sync with other member countries.

The General Manager is a (QP) for the purpose of completing PBR applications in Australia . To view the PBR processes and to search the PBR database follow this link: http://pbr.ipaustralia.optus.com.au/ 

Trademarks in Australia are approved and administered by IP Australia. It is possible to undertake a search of existing trademarks and to access an application form by visiting the IP Australia website. www.ipaustralia.gov.au
